What TrackShort knows about you.

Short version: your gestures never leave your Mac. What does leave it is a license check, and what we hold is what a purchase needs.

On your Mac

Gestures, the shapes you record, what they're bound to, and everything the app learns about how you draw are stored in a local database in your Library folder. Recognition runs on-device. Nothing about a gesture, a stroke, or an action is ever uploaded.

Reading your trackpad requires macOS's Input Monitoring permission. TrackShort uses it only to read finger positions while a gesture is being drawn. It does not record keystrokes and does not read the screen.

Your account

You sign in with Google. We store the account id Google gives us, your email address, your name and profile picture, and when you signed in. We use them to show your licenses to you and to email your key. There is no password.

When you buy

Payment is handled by Razorpay. We never see your card, UPI or bank details. We receive a payment reference and store it with your order so we can issue your key and honour a refund.

License checks

When you activate, and once a day afterwards while the app is running, TrackShort sends your license key and a random device identifier to our service so it can confirm the key is valid and count how many Macs it is on. The service records the time of the last check and the name of your Mac, so you can tell your devices apart when releasing one. That is the complete list.

If the service can't be reached, the app keeps working for 14 days on the last successful check.

What we don't do

  • No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting in the app.
  • On the public pages (not your account or admin) we use Microsoft Clarity for anonymous usage analytics — aggregate clicks and scrolls, with all text and inputs masked. It never runs where your license key is shown. Google sign-in and Razorpay checkout load only on the pages that use them.
  • No selling or sharing of your email address.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling TrackShort and deleting ~/Library/Application Support/com.trackshort.app removes everything on your Mac. To have your account, purchase record and license deleted from our service, email hello@mavistools.co from the address you signed in with.
